WINE CEREMONY OF THE ALSATIAN WINE BROTHERHOOD
The "Brotherhood of Saint Etienne" is one of the oldest wine brotherhoods in France, dating back to the XIV Century. Upon arrival at the Château, you will be welcomed by the wine brothers to a ceremony called "Grand Chapitre", an amusing lecture/tasting and a unique approach to introducing Alsatian wines. This is done according to the rules of the "Brotherhood", initially established in 1561. Afterwards, we will serve a festive dinner in the prestigious salons of the Château de Pourtalès. The "Brotherhood" will offer a selection of wines. They will then provide you with a full description of the wines being served.
